Nothing says “routine week on the water” like a Pan Pan offshore and a jet ski under a restaurant. A Coast Guard Pan Pan reported a man in green or blue coveralls in the water about three and a half nautical miles offshore, asking mariners to keep a sharp lookout. In San Diego Bay, Harbor Police were alerted after a jet skier fell near the Fish Market, with the rider swimming toward a jet ski lodged under the restaurant.

Overall maritime VHF traffic fell from 737 transmissions last week to 415 this week representing about a 44% decline. Sécurité transmissions declined from 170 to 90 and hail traffic decreased from 223 to 136. Pan-Pan calls declined significantly relative to last week and Friday showed the highest daily activity.
